How do I get started with Budget Buckets?
Start by setting your income amount and frequency in the "Income & Settings" section. Then create expense buckets for your regular spending categories (housing, transport, groceries, etc.) and add savings buckets for your financial goals. Add specific items to each bucket with their amounts.
Does Budget Buckets connect to my bank accounts?
No, Budget Buckets is a manual budgeting tool. It doesn't connect to your bank accounts or automatically import transactions. You'll need to manually enter your spending and update your progress. This gives you full control over your data and privacy.
How do savings goals work?
Savings buckets let you set a goal amount and target date. The app will calculate how much you need to save each period to reach your goal on time. You can also manually set your contribution amount and track your progress toward the goal.
Can I access my budget on multiple devices?
Yes! Your budget data is automatically synced to the cloud when you're signed in. You can access your budget from any device by signing in with the same account.
How do I backup my data?
Use the "Export" button in the app header to download a JSON file containing all your budget data. This serves as a backup that you can import later if needed. We recommend doing this regularly.
What happens if I delete my account?
If you delete your account, all your budget data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days. Make sure to export your data first if you want to keep a copy.
Is my financial data secure?
Yes, your data is stored securely using Google Firebase with industry-standard encryption. We don't share your financial information with third parties, and you can read our full Privacy Policy for more details.
Can I use different currencies?
Yes, Budget Buckets supports multiple currencies including AUD, USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, NZD, JPY, CNY, and INR. You can change your currency in the settings section.

How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your Plus subscription at any time through:
  • Your account settings in the Budget Buckets app
  • The Stripe billing management portal (accessible from your account)
  • Contacting our billing support team
Your Plus features remain active until the end of your current billing period.
Can I get a refund?
We offer refunds in these situations:
  • Technical Issues: Service doesn't work as described and we can't fix it within 7 days
  • Billing Errors: You were charged incorrectly due to our error
  • First-time Users: Full refund within 7 days of first subscription for any reason
